Take Action: Protect Student Services in the 2026–27 State Budget

Student safety, mental health supports, and attendance services are essential infrastructure in California schools—not optional programs. As the State finalizes the 2026–27 Budget, these critical supports are at risk.

 

CASCWA has drafted a ready-to-use advocacy letter urging the Governor and Legislature to fully fund Proposition 98 and protect the student services systems that keep students safe, supported, and engaged in school. The letter highlights the real-world impacts of funding instability on attendance, mental health, school safety, and district fiscal health—and makes a clear case for sustained investment.
