Bay Section

Welcome to Bay Section

Dear CASCWA Bay Section Members

It is my honor and privilege to introduce myself as the new CASCWA Bay Section President. I would like to welcome all current members and newly appointed Child Welfare and Attendance personnel.

Our section sponsors two workshop events each year. Our Spring Workshop will be held on Friday, May 12th at the Alameda County Office of Education. Please watch for Save The Date information and registration and program information in the coming months.

I would like to call upon all members of CASCWA Bay Section to strengthen our base by introducing others to the benefits of joining our organization. I look forward to working with the other Sections of CASCWA to build up our statewide participation.
Bay Section also sponsors Student Scholarships which we award at our Spring Workshop. We were fortunate to be able to award seven scholarships this past school year to very deserving, responsible and intelligent students. Information on our scholarship process is on the CASCWA website under Bay Section Scholarships where forms can be downloaded.

Finally I would like to express my appreciation for all your hard work as child advocates and mentors. Please know you are appreciated.

Thank you letter for Phil Kauble Scholarship

Dear Mr. Phil Kauble:

I am writing this letter to you to thank you for your scholarship donation towards my education. I am currently attending UC Berkeley as a Psychology major with a focus in Pre-Medicine. As an undocumented student it is beyond my gratitude to thank those who believe in my potential and have allowed me to be a step closer to my dream of becoming a pediatrician.

I have completed three weeks here at UC Berkeley and I am having the best time of my life. Thanks to donors like you my legal status did not prevent me from living the full college experience. I am living in the dormitories and enjoying being surrounded by wonderful intellectuals as well as enjoying what the city of Berkeley has to offer.

My life has made me overcome many obstacles but I would overcome each and every one of them in order to have the great opportunity I have now. Thank you for believing in me and allowing me to succeed in this country. I will be thankful today and for the rest of my life. I am glad people like you take their time to give a small push to those of us who have just begun achieving our success. God bless.
